Dr. Tat Lam is a visionary leader with a diverse skill set, currently serving as the CEO of SZC Holdings, a pioneering development strategy consultancy, and an adjunct associate professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He conducts research on methodologies for sustainable regional development strategies and innovative development finance models. Dr. Lam received his PhD degree from UCL Bartlett School of Architecture and his Master of Architecture Degree from Columbia University.
Dr. Lam's extensive expertise spans various fields, including development planning, development finance, social anthropology, and urban design. Under his astute leadership, SZC Holdings has played a crucial role in designing and implementing development data solutions for impact funds, international development organizations, financial institutions, foundations, governments, and sovereign wealth funds. These transformative solutions have reached regions such as China, Southeast Asia, South America, and Africa. Additionally, SZC Holdings is actively involved in serving sovereign wealth funds to develop regional development strategies and establish development banking platforms.
In addition to his role at SZC Holdings, Dr. Lam is the visionary founder and director of IDCC, a nonprofit organization collaborating with the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fund (SIEF) to deploy an innovative impact management data platform on the blockchain in Hong Kong. Furthermore, he serves as a director on the board of ixo.world AG, a pioneering blockchain system R&D company dedicated to sustainable finance in Europe.
Dr. Lam's influence extends beyond individual organizations. In 2021, he was selected by the InterChain Foundation to co-lead the Earth Program, a groundbreaking initiative that unites a consortium of fintech and technology companies to establish future standards in regenerative finance. Recently, Dr. Lam received a significant appointment from a leading development investment company backed by sovereign wealth from the Gulf Region, combining Islamic Shariah-Compliance and UN SDG Mandates to unlock sovereign wealth for development investment. He has been tasked with leading and designing smart city strategies, central banking digital currency (CBDC) initiatives, and public-private partnership (PPP) models in the Middle East-North Africa (MENA) region.
